Proxima LS2 with “Ultralight” Projector Lamp

The Proxima LS2 is not exactly a projector that has a lot of value for consumers who are used to the dazzling contrast ratios of 2005 and/ or modern projector lamps that set the room on fire with their glow. But, this unit does have a few tricks up its sleeve yet, and is a good value for anyone looking to buy a solid used projector that will not fail.

The projector lamp inside this unit is known for being notoriously short on lamp life and is a 150W lamp that Proxima claims will generate a quite average 1200 ANSI lumens. However, the great thing about this unit is that a replacement projector lamp can be found right here at myprojectorlamps.com for only $274.99. The projector lamps sold at myprojectorlamps.com, including the lamp for the Proxima LS2, will last for at least 3000 hours, which will ensure that you do not have to replace the projector bulb every half year or so, as has been the case in the past.

Inspecting the Proxima LS2 Ultralight, it is quickly evident that the unit is lacking a number a fairly commonplace inputs, so if you’re considering this unit, be advised of the following. The unit does NOT include HDTV, component or any sort of digital inputting. There is a place where the user can connect to a PC; however, the unit only boasts a maximum resolution of 1024x768, which can make PC displays fuzzy if not calibrated properly.

With that said though, recently I have personally noticed a lot of LS2’s finding their way to community colleges and even K-12 school campuses. Most people find the LS2 perfect for classroom presentations or for simple displays of digital files, mostly photos and the like. The projector lamp inside is bright enough so that the image appears luminous and sharp even for the uninterested kids at the back of the class (when the shades are drawn of course).

If you are considering picking this projector up used, be encouraged by the fact that you will be able to buy projector lamps for the LS2 well into the future, as myprojectorlamps.com does not intend to stop distributing these lamps anytime soon.
